Summer please be here

Fun fact: did you know there's a song with  lyrics "Do you suffer from longtime memory loss? -I can't remember."

It's amazing. Trust me.

These shots are from Geneva, last year. Very pretty!

From Sunrise to Sunset

So Random

It's Sunday! Usually the lamest day of the week, but not this week. Sister is coming home from her 3-month trip to Liverpool and I have loads to do before she gets back (namely, cleaning up). But I'm excited!

After Eight Chocolate Chip Cookies

I mentioned here that I would bake cookies. It all started out nice and dandy, but once I started to mix the dough, the whisk broke. I switched to a tiny one, the size of a fork. Cute yes, but not that efficient. As I started to measure the flour in, the measuring cup broke. I'm afraid that these delish cookies might contain fragments of plaster (sorry for the gastric ulcers friends).

It was good fun though, I laughed my arse off when the second malfunction happened.

I followed this recipe, adding a tad of black coffee in the mix to boost the flavor of chocolate. I slipped in After Eight chocolates too, for a thin mint surprise inside.

No one can question your bad moves if you embrace them

I went for a quick jog this morning.. Back home, I felt so crazy energized I did an impromptu dance routine by myself, including loads of bad disco dance moves. It was great! Looking stupid is perfectly normal friends, go for it.

As a side note, I got a beautiful orchid as a going away present from the office. Now off to bake cookies for a party tonight.  It'll be a beautiful weekend!

Today I woke up thinking it was Monday

It's my last day at my current job (YAY) and it was so weird walking to the office knowing that once the day was done, this chapter of my life would be over. I'm relieved because at times it's been so stressful, but on one hand I know I'll miss the people I worked with. It's always sad saying goodbyes.

I was a ball of confusement this morning too, really thinking it was Monday and wondering how the week would turn out, when I realised it's indeed FRIDAY. Happy surprise!

I'll leave you with these, they accurately portray my level of ability to decide on anything in life. Such a silly post this, really.

Black and White

I went shopping for sneakers and got 'em!

Also got a few good shots of the good people of Helsinki.
I don't know why but I find b&w photos very charming.

We Will Run

I'm so excited to get back on track and running. This winter has been ridiculously long and cold but I think (maybe still too optimistically) that it's finally over and the snow will be gone in a matter of weeks. I need to get a new pair of sneakers and I'm leaning towards LunarGlides.

Also, ever since I was a kid my "happy dreams", the ones where most people fly or something, have been about running and not getting tired. Just running for miles on end.

BE passionate joyful sad euphoric angry intense desperate ecstatic intimate present ALIVE

These shots are from the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. It is truly spectacular.

Haunted houses

I think most kids find old, rundown houses intriguing. Me and my sister (hi sis!) used to creep into abandoned huts in the countryside and explore all the secrets they held inside. Shards of glass or old bottles seemed like treasures and everything was magical. I still feel so curious if I pass an empty house with broken windows and a garden gone rogue.  A photographer from Detroit has a line of photos out, "100 Abandoned houses" and I instantly fell i love.

I like to be surrounded by splendid things

Though it's snowing outside (sigh) I'm hoping to be able to change my wardrobe into light layers of silk shirts and flowy dresses soon enough.
I also might have to place and order from Topshop.
Why isn't summer here already?

Des Hommes

Today I felt like such a creep photographer, shooting random people in Helsinki.
It was a cloudy, cold day so people didn't seem to be too happy in general.

I, however, loved the fact that I had time to walk around town taking photos, meet a dear friend for coffee and go see a movie together.
